How now a large part of Europe is facing a cloud of volcanic ash, rendering air transportation impossible. Someone has to pay for my smoking addiction which was deliberately done to me to destroy my health and appearance and which has caused me so many problems.

How cold means alone, cool means single, warm means mutual affection and hot means together (in a relationship). That when you are in love with someone that you expect that person to be single, that’s cool. Then you realize that the feeling is mutual this is warm, after that you start a relationship and this would be hot. How solid means virgin and liquid means sexually active. How people would be born in January as the new year/new life begins, and be virgins solid or frozen. So then it becomes spring and the temperatures would warm up, making you melt and become sexually active, entering summer being hot with beautiful weather, being in a relationship. How the seasons follow each other as events in most people’s lives follow each other. From being a virgin to being single to having a relationship. I find this really interesting I got this idea while viewing the German weather forecast yesterday. Just like the clouds in the sky mean something, or the differences in types of precipitation.

ETS stands for Emissions Trading Scheme, which is the name of the Australian anti climate change legislation. Australia is in the Hole of the Ozone Layer, and has very dry and hot periods so you would imagine that Australian politicians would realize the need for this bill, still Australian politicians are deeply divided over the ETS bill. It has to do with how to pay for this, while Australia isn’t even in a recession. This cartoon shows Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd on an iceberg and that a polar bear asks him “Dinner?” Peter Nicholson drew this picture for The Australian.

This is a funny cartoon from The Australian, drawn by Peter Nicholson. It shows Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd carrying the globe while other world leaders are partying. The point is that Australia notices it first when the global temperature goes up. Besides that Southern Australia is in the hole of the Ozone layer over the South Pole. So emissions of green house gasses affect Australia the most compared to other countries.

The national colours of Australia are green and gold. One of the reasons for Australians to pick these particular colours has to do with an Australian plant which is green with yellow ‘small fruit’. These colours are very relevant for the world these days. Because green has to do with the environment and gold has to do with money. So Australia has to do with a sustainable environmentally friendly wealthy economy! Australia has uranium, in Dutch ‘straling’ means radiation and of course ‘au’ in most languages means pain! On the other hand as long as there is no radiation leak, nuclear energy could be a good alternative to other ways of generating energy. In Australia they also have coal, and I read several times in The Australian about what they called: ‘clean coal’ which must be very clean and has very little CO2 emissions. I cannot understand why in Europe nobody seems to know about clean coal! This story sure makes you think that there is a divine plan with the world, don’t you think?

This year the Melbourne Cup, Australia’s main horse racing event, was cancelled due to Horse Influenza. This was the first time this race was cancelled in its 100+ year history! In The Australian I found this picture of an Australian horse racing coach. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I first saw this picture, because I felt as if I was looking at a photo of myself. I don’t know anything about horses, but because of my love for American country music I learned to love ‘country’ over the past 25 years, this made me develop special feelings for rodeos and cowboys. This is what the soul of Country Music is all about. I was in Australia twice in 1984 and 1997, and I was at the Devonport, Tasmania horse racing track. I also walked past the Devonport dog racing track but it was closed to the public because racing season hadn’t started yet. For years I lived with the local American airmen stationed on Soesterberg AB (NL), which was referred to as ‘the farm’. But as I said, this man in this photo could have been me, except I am thinner. I would want to be a farmer in Australia, even though Australia is currently suffering from a very serious drought, so lots of farmers get government money to sell their farms because crops won’t grow due to water shortages. Australia is proof of how much water we need as humans and that Australia is merely the start of a global fresh water shortage in the future. Farmers have strong bodies, and my body is weak, but I would develop a passion for the land and its crops or livestock. Because of songs I got to know about: farmers, farms, cowboys and rodeos (and horses of course)!

Here is a shot from the place where I live in downtown Amersfoort. There were two or three cranes right behind the steeple of the St Aegtenkapel. Wouldn’t know what they are doing there, or exactly where they are building.

In Australia there is a water shortage, which has to do with climate change (due to fossil fuels) and a greater demand for water in the country. So the Australian government is building Sun farms where electricity is generated by solar power. Australia is doing very well economically but they are also affected by the hole in the Ozone layer. Australia is like paradise and how it is threatened by man made side effects of global wealth! The Australian government introduced a Minister for Water. There are rivers in Australia which should flood and that way support an eco-system but that certain rivers haven’t flooded in a decade because farmers are using the water up stream. Today I read in The Australian about how the Australian government wanted to make sure cities and farms have enough fresh water and that rivers and wildlife are of secondary importance. In 20 years there will be a world wide shortage of fresh water! Here is an animation about global warming in Australia, it is meant to be funny, but the message is very serious!
