9/9/09.
I could have gotten married today, if my physical and mental state had been better. I am too old now but if I had been under age 30 I surely would have been able to find me a bride. I remember how between 1999 and 2001 I went on photo shoots to Dutch city centers by train and that I regularly got to see brides and grooms posing in front of the local historic town hall. One time I was in Vlaardingen and that these newly weds were moved in a carriage drawn by some four horses. Nice weather on your wedding day is a blessing. And I would only go make photos if the weather was good. Getting married is something everyone should try at least once in his or her lifetime.

An Old Picture.
While going through some old letters I found this photograph. It shows an F-15 of the 32nd Fighter Squadron at the Military Aviation Museum in Soesterberg, Netherlands. The Americans left in 1994 when their radio station went off the air, and that I just know that I am going to miss American military radio (AFN Europe) in 2007 more than ever. Luckily I can listen to American and Australian radio stations via the Internet! Who would have thought that this would be possible some 10 years ago? You can listen to AFN on the Internet too but their stream is always filled to capacity. It is a shame that Dutch radio doesn’t fill the void left by AFN. Dutch commercial radio stations basically all do the same thing, so if you don’t appreciate one of them then you basically have got no Dutch radio station left to listen to. The funny side effect of this situation is that most of those Dutch national commercial radio stations don’t make a profit because they aren’t the best in their specialty. Besides Australian radio is far better, better music, better presentation, real enjoyment. Dutch radio is more like doing drugs and being addicted to their product. Unfortunately those Dutch radio stations don’t listen to me, so they keep on messing around with stuff they really suck at. In the mean time you can have a look at this photo from 1996 which I put online today.

Aljo-Shop Online.
My little shop to give away bigger versions of the photos from my Amersfoort page is online since 30 minutes. Everything seems to work perfectly. I have 89 photos ready to be ordered and I plan to add another 60 pictures. It is all free. Like all web shops you can put items you want in your basket and when finished you go to the counter where you can complete the transaction without having to pay because I removed all methods of payment. You need to enter your email address and then you’ll get an invoice (via email) with a link and when you click on this link then you can download the pictures you ordered directly from my site to your hard disk. Please check out Aljo-Shop and tell me how you like it.

My Dream Camera.
This is the Nikon D80 digital SLR. It was released only a few months ago, so it is still kind of expensive. Still if I ever want to buy me a digital camera it would be this one! Due to my failing health I am no longer able to go out and make pictures. The digital compact I am using now, with which I made over 6,500 photos in four years is producing great pictures too. But the D80 is a semi professional camera. It is my desire to photograph for magazines and websites, free lance or something. Like how popular my Amersfoort website was when I still made photos for it. Before my failing health forbid it. Photography is so much fun to spend time on. And good equipment results in high quality images. The more photos you make the more experience you gain, the better your photos get! It is almost impossible to make good pictures with a bad camera, but a good camera doesn’t necessarily make good pictures.
